When it comes to critical reading, there are four strategy steps to follow.
Step 1. Skim
Glance at parts of a book or article to gain a quick, general overview of it.
Step 2. Reflection
A time spent examining your own views of a topic, rather than the author's views.
Step 3. Reading
Which is to just read what you are working on.
Step 4. Evaluation
The process of asking questions to determine the truthfulness of an issue, statement, or position.
